Open Studio, Perilli – UC Italy

An innovative approach involving restorers, diagnostics professionals, and researchers, a scientific project designed to make art accessible to all and to raise awareness of preservation and sustainability in art.

The restoration of Achille Perilli's artwork, Yellow and Grey Lines, mixed media, 1966, 183 x 226 cm, will start in mid-November at the UniCredit headquarters in Lampugnano, Milan.

The restoration, which will be visible to all colleagues and visitors of the headquarters' spaces, will be realised in collaboration with Cesmar 7 (Centre for the Study of Restoration Materials), a non-profit association that will lead the scientific project related to the study of the materials used by the artist for the painting.

The study will be divided into various phases, such as the identification of the main materials used by the artist in the artwork, the study of the techniques applied in the realization phase, the analysis of the state of conservation, assessment, and restoration, and the dissemination of the results.

During the various phases of restoration, various moments of dissemination and educational in-depth study are planned, both with the major restoration schools in the area, such as the Brera Academy and the Botticino Restoration School, and with colleagues to introduce them to the world of the UniCredit Art Collection.
