    Andrei Roiter (Moscow, Russia, 1960)

    Born in Moscow in 1960, Andrei Roiter studied architecture between 1978 and 1980 but soon devoted himself to visual art, exhibiting in Soviet underground art circles.

    His artistic research reflects themes of travel, nomadic identity, and memory, using a language that combines painting, photography, objects, and installations.

    Roiter describes himself as an “eternal tourist,” creating visual narratives that evoke places, objects, and suspended atmospheres.

    His works are displayed in major international museums, including the Centre Pompidou, Van Abbemuseum, Kunsthalle Basel, and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

    Today, the artist lives and works between Amsterdam and New York.
