Alessandro Salucci (Florence, 1590 – Rome, after 1650)

Born in Florence in 1590, Alessandro Salucci moved to Rome at a young age, where he specialized in architectural views and capriccios—a genre in which he became one of the leading figures of the Roman seventeenth century.
His training was likely influenced by artists such as Viviano Codazzi, with whom he frequently collaborated.

In 1628, he took part in the decoration of the Casino Sacchetti in Castelfusano, working alongside Andrea Sacchi and Pietro da Cortona.
In 1634, he joined the Accademia di San Luca, marking official recognition of his artistic career.

Salucci stood out for his ability to create imaginary settings where architecture takes center stage. His views anticipated the 18th-century taste for urban landscape painting and influenced the Roman school.

He likely died in Rome after 1650.
