Luisa Rabbia (Pinerolo, Turin, Italy, 1970)

Born in 1970 in Pinerolo, in the province of Turin, Luisa Rabbia graduated from art high school before continuing her studies at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti, also in Turin.

In her works, the artist explores the concept of solitude and individuality in a transformative and ever-changing social context, affecting both the self and society. This poetic vision remains consistent in her production, regardless of the changing media.

During the academic year 2013-2014, she was Visiting Professor in Drawing at Harvard University (Cambridge); in 2018, she was awarded the NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Painting, and in 2022 the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.

She took part in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including: Palazzo Bricherasio, Turin (2003); Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai (2006); Harvard University, Cambridge (2013); Shirley Fiterman Art Center, New York (2015); Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome (2008, 2018); Magazzino Italian Art Foundation, Cold Spring, New York (2020); Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia (2021); Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, California (2022); and Studio Museo Felice Casorati, Pavarolo, Turin (2024).

She now lives and works in New York.
