    ONA B. (Vienna (AT), 1957)

    Ona B. was born in Vienna in 1957. She studied painting at the University of Applied Arts in the class of Adolf Frohner and graduated in 1988. In addition to painting, she is also a photographer and installation artist.

    After graduating, she realised many exhibitions in various countries around the world. In 1991 at the Secession in Vienna, the following year at the Ricky Renier Gallery in Chicago, in 2003 in Tokyo and in 2004 in Shanghai.

    The Staatsstipendium for Fine Arts of the Republic of Austria, the Promotion Prize for Fine Arts of the City of Vienna and 1st Prize at the Biennale in Ankara (with Den Damen - a group consisting of the artists Evelyne Egerer, Birgit Jürgenssen and Ingeborg Strobl) are just a few of the prizes the artist has received in the course of her career.

    Together with Walter Berger, Ona B. founded the artist group Phoenix Production in 1979
    She has been a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus since 2003.

    The artist lives and works in Vienna as a freelance artist and curator.
