    Silvio Allason (Turin, Italy, 1845 – Turin, Italy, 1912)

    The artist was born in Turin in 1845 and started his career as a clerk at the Ministry of War.

    However, starting from 1867, he dedicated himself exclusively to painting. He initially trained in Florence and later in Turin, where he attended Gamba and Gastaldi’s Accademia Albertina.

    During this time, he also deepened the study of landscape painting, taking inspiration from his cousin Ernesto first, and working with Perotti later.

    He successfully exhibited for the first time in 1869, and then again in 1873 and 1876. He showed particular attention to the rendering of the moonlight effect on the figures represented.

    The artist also exhibited in Milan, Naples, Paris, during the Salon of 1878 and in Nice.

    He died in Turin in 1912.
