    Francesco Jodice (Naples, Italy 1967)

Born in Naples in 1967, he lives and works in Milan.

After graduating from architecture in 1995, he decided to dedicate himself to artistic research, focusing above all on changes in the contemporary social landscape, paying particular attention to the new phenomena of urban anthropology.
Among his most important projects are the What We Want series, which aims to build new atlas with art and geopolitics as a common ground, proposing photography as civil poetry, and The Secret Traces, an archive of urban shading experiments. His most recent artworks explore the future of the Western world.

The attention of Jodice then turned to different anthropological cultures in relation to the new phenomena of mega-politics. He produced, for example, Hikikomori, Class Portraits and Citytellers, a trilogy film on new forms of urbanisation.

Since 2008, geopolitics have been at the centre of the artist's research.
His analysis of the crisis of the Western system has led to the films, installations and photographic projects promoting forms and models of public participation.
He has featured in important group exhibitions including the Documenta Kassel, Venice Biennial, São Paulo Biennial, ICP Triennial in New York, Liverpool Biennial and Yinchuan Biennial. He has exhibited at the Rivoli Castle in Turin, Tate Modern in London and Prado Museum in Madrid.

He currently teaches at NABA – New Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.
