Daniela Olivieri, also known as Sissi (Bologna, Italy 1977)

Born in Bologna in 1977, after studying there at the Academy of Fine Arts, she began working at a very young age, establishing herself among the most interesting Italian artists on an international level.

Her artistic career began in 1999, with the performance “Daniela missed the train”, held in the train station, which was the scene of the neo-fascist attack.

Building on this performance, the Bolognese artist still investigates subjectivity and the social and emotional construction of the body across different artistic expressions including performance, sculpture, drawing and photography.

A recurring expressive form in the work of artist is the book. In Parallel Anatomy (a limited edition of 5 copies), she proposes a renewed reading of human anatomy, where emotions become intangible organs that manifest themselves in relation to the external environment and others.

From 2010 to 2013, she was also the artistic director for Furla's advertising campaigns.

In 2020, the Clothing exhibition at the Bentivoglio Palace in Bologna brought together a large selection of her dress-sculptures, created over around 20 years.

In addition to her activity as an artist, she is a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.
