Biography
Giuseppe De Mattia (Bari, Italy, 1980)
Born in Bari in 1980, De Mattia studied at Dams in Bologna. After working at a Portuguese cinema production company, in 2006, he began a project on family photographic archives.
In 2015, he started the editorial project L.T – Tasso Books. In 2020, he founded Marketstudio, bringing together artistic projects in a frame shop in Bologna.
After participating, in 2021, in the MAMbo artistic residency project for "The New Bread Oven" project, he held his first solo self-produced exhibition at the OPR Gallery in Milan.
Since 2022, he has worked in collectives such as Coclite/De Mattia and Sea House (with Luca Coclite and Claudio Musso).
The artist now lives and works between Noha (Lecce) and Bologna, where he collaborates with Home Movies – the National Archive of Family Films and the Cineteca of Bologna.
